I always link my related posts to each other – usually it says “please see more information on this post”. Other things you can do is submit the post to some free articles places or send out a newsletter that recommends the top posts.

I have a WordPress.com blog and I use widgets for most of the things you mention here. You are right it is harder to get visibility for older posts, so it's great that WordPress give us all of these tools. Thanks for the post.

I know this sounds counter-intuitive, but don’t immediately stumble your new post. I have been working with Stumbleupon for some time now, and have many accounts with some power. As such, Stumble is my main source of traffic for most of my blogs, especially newer ones.

However, I like to give a post a week or two before I Stumble it myself. This gives it a chance to gain traction on its own; as well as an opportunity to revive it if it doesn’t.

I was thinking about my older post just today!! and I found out that I was doing half of the tips above, but some of it I was doing for no reason, but your tips gave me a motive -if we could say- to keep doing it! thanks a lot, for thinking about it
